Lauryl Alcohol Ethoxylate AEO-3, also known as lauryl alcohol polyether-3 or AEO-3, is an important nonionic surfactant. The product is formed by the condensation of fatty alcohol and ethylene oxide, and has a unique molecular structure R-O-(CH2CH2O)nH, where R represents the fatty alcohol group of C12C18, and n represents the addition number of ethylene oxide, usually between 15-16. This structure gives AEO-3 an excellent balance of hydrophilicity and lipophilicity, making it widely used in many fields.
